Privacy Policy
Maison Fo Cheò inc. Last updated: 2026.07.29
This policy explains what personal information we collect through focheo.com, why we collect it, who can see it, and how you can get it back, correct it, or have it deleted. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
When you join the Founder's Club, we collect:
• Your first name
• Your email address
• Your shipping country or region
That's all. We do not ask for your street address, your date of birth, or payment information at this stage. If you later back our Kickstarter campaign, Kickstarter collects shipping and payment details directly under its own privacy policy — we never see your payment information.
When you visit the site, our website host records standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and how you arrived. This is used to understand traffic volume, not to identify you personally.
Why we collect it
What
First name
Email address
Shipping country
Technical data
Why
To address you by name in the emails we send
To notify you when the Kickstarter campaign launches, to send you your Founder's Club reservation link, and to share occasional updates about the product before launch
To estimate shipping costs by region before we set our campaign pricing, and to tell you whether we can ship to you
To measure site traffic and fix problems
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your email address with other companies for their own marketing.
Consent, and how to withdraw it
By submitting the Founder's Club form, you consent to us using your information for the purposes listed in section 4.
You can withdraw that consent at any time — click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email we send, or write to info@focheo.com. Withdrawing consent means we stop emailing you and delete your record. It does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew.
If we ever want to use your information for a purpose that isn't listed above, we will ask you separately first.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you stay on the Founder's Club list, and for 24 months after the Kickstarter campaign ends, so we can handle any questions about your order.
After that, or as soon as you ask us to, we delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we don't email you again by mistake.
Cookies and tracking
Our site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and analytics cookies that help us count visitors. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work.
We do not currently use advertising or profiling cookies. If we start — for example, to show ads to people who visited this site — we will update this policy and ask for your consent first, with a clear way to decline. Under Law 25 you always have the right to refuse profiling.
Your rights
You have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct it if it's wrong or incomplete
• Withdraw your consent and have your information deleted
• Receive a copy of the information you gave us, in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability)
• Complain if you think we've mishandled your information
Write to info@focheo.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so we don't hand your information to someone else.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom
The GDPR also applies to you, and gives you some additional rights.
• Our legal basis for processing your information is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
• Beyond the rights in section 9, you may also restrict or object to our processing of your information.
• You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
• We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, but you can reach our person responsible for personal information at info@focheo.com.
How we protect your information
We limit access to the people who need it, use reputable service providers with their own security measures, and use secure connections (HTTPS) across the site. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever presented a risk of serious harm to you, we would notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information as the law requires.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you may file a complaint with:
Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec cai.gouv.qc.ca
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant — a new purpose, a new category of information — we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect.
